Sacred Heart University

Sacred Heart University is an American university based in Connecticut with a long-standing association with Dingle. The University now has a campus on John Street where students undertake undergraduate and postgraduate study as part of their academic programmes. Disciplines represented in Dingle include Nursing and Health Sciences, Social Work, Biology, Business, Communications, Media and Liberal Arts.

Dingle Heart Safe

Dingle Heart Safe is a group of local volunteers who maintain public-access defibrillators throughout the area. We also serve as Community First Responders in partnership with the National Ambulance Service, responding to emergency calls including suspected heart attacks, strokes and cardiac arrests.

Health Tent: Food is Medicine

Sacred Heart University in Dingle proudly supports the work of Dingle Heart Safe and is delighted to participate in this year’s Dingle Food Festival.

With the theme “Food is Medicine”, our focus is on the simple but powerful steps we can all take to improve our health and wellbeing. Good nutrition, regular health monitoring, and the ability to respond in an emergency can all play an important role in helping people live healthier lives.

Visit our stand to learn more about the role nutrition plays in supporting health and wellbeing. You can have your blood pressure, pulse, and weight checked, watch demonstrations on CPR, choking response, and AED (defibrillator) use, and learn more about both Sacred Heart University’s presence in Dingle and the valuable work of Dingle Heart Safe.
